The government of Indonesia will focus on the growth and expansion of the manufacturing and tourism industries along with drawing foreign and local investment in huge to renew the economic growth of the country, which of late has experienced a downward trend in the middle of rising insecurities in the global economy, a senior official has said.

Chairman of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Suharso Monoarfa explained that the three sources of growth would be the prime focus of the working plan (RKP) of the government in 2021 to stimulate the financial system.

“The manufacturing industry contribution [to national GDP] is still below 20 percent, which doesn’t even put us into a semi-industrial nation category. That’s why we have to push and grow the manufacturing sector,” he mentioned on Monday in Jakarta while attending a ceremony to mark the start of the drafting of the 2021 working plan.
