The Indonesia tourism and creative economy ministry is looking for five non-stop flights from India, Malaysia, Australia, and Brunei Darussalam in association with AirAsia to increase the number of travelers from abroad.
These extra carriers will be involving flights from Kolkata and Chennai in India, Kuching in Malaysia and
Perth in Australia along with Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam. This was said by Minister Sandiaga Uno during weekly briefing event on Monday.
Uno said that he would request Tony Fernandes, the CEO of AirAsia Group for investing in Indonesia’s five
top precedence tourism places along with 10 special economic zones.
Fernandes earlier showed his curiosity in initiating more non-stop flights to Indonesia. He said that his
business looks forward to show to the world that Indonesia can present further than Bali. He also voiced
interest in financing in hotels for supporting Indonesia’s enormous tourism prospective. With the help of this outlay, Indonesia can have significant possibility in the tourism segment, said Uno.
During a conversation with various foreign and domestic financiers on June 14, Minister Uno
underlined efforts concerning non-stop flights from inside and outside Indonesia to primacy places,
including Kura-kura and Sanur in Bali.
