InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), a global leader in hospitality, announces the signing of Kimpton Lisbon, the first property of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in the Portuguese capital. Scheduled to open in early 2025, this boutique luxury hotel marks Kimpton’s second venture in Portugal, following the signing of Kimpton Algarve São Rafael Atlántico in late 2023.
Kimpton Lisbon contributes to IHG’s rapidly expanding luxury & lifestyle portfolio, now the world’s second-largest, and underscores its commitment to growing presence in Portugal. Within the luxury & lifestyle segment, IHG presently operates six hotels and has seven more in development under brands like Six Senses, Hotel Indigo, and Vignette Collection’s recently opened Convent Square Lisbon and Casa da Companhia in Porto.
Under a franchise agreement with Real Hotel Group, the hotel will undergo a transformation that reflects the essence of the Kimpton brand. Boasting 141 guestrooms, the redesigned public areas will draw inspiration from Lisbon’s vibrant light and colors. From uniquely designed spaces with high-quality finishes to restaurants and bars featuring seasonal inspirations – including a rooftop bar and pool – the hotel aims to offer a seamless experience for guests eager to immerse themselves in new cultures, cuisines, or conversations.
Situated in the heart of Lisbon, Kimpton Lisbon will serve as an ideal starting point for exploration, with major tourist attractions within walking distance. These include Eduardo VII Park, Marquês de Pombal Square, Avenida Liberdade, as well as museums, and the lively restaurant and bar scene of the city.
