This week marks the debut of Six Senses La Sagesse, IHG‘s inaugural resort in the Caribbean. Situated beachfront among verdant, rolling hills with ample accommodations, the resort boasts prime access to Grenada’s glistening reefs and captivating rainforests. The island’s spectacular natural scenery and vibrant cultural offerings create the perfect environment for discovery, relaxation, and festivities.

Thomas Fehlbier, General Manager, says: “Grenada is divided into six parishes, and La Sagesse, which is in the South-Eastern parish of St. David, has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. It is filled with vibrant energy, and we are delighted to be opening our doors and welcoming our first guests to discover this unique location. Our hosts, many of whom were born and raised minutes from the resort, along with the neighboring community, are full of pride and all-embracing. We are immensely grateful to be breaking the mold and inviting the world to experience a side of Grenada that retains an incredible purity and remains somewhat undiscovered.”

Six Senses La Sagesse, the latest addition to IHG’s luxury and lifestyle collection, features 56 pool suites and 15 villas with one, two, and four-bedroom options. Each accommodation boasts expansive outdoor terraces and private plunge pools. The resort’s design prioritizes guest well-being, emphasizing abundant light and space and incorporating natural and repurposed materials into the interiors.

Unparalleled Farm-to-Table Experiences in Grenada

At Six Senses La Sagesse, the Experience Center offers guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of Grenada’s Spice Island. Through engaging activities such as farm-to-table cooking, Caribbean-style high tea, waterfall excursions, rainforest treks, and coastal visits, guests can experience the blend of tradition, sustainability, culture, and community. These experiences cater to all ages and provide a deep connection to the island’s lifestyle.

A special tour allows guests to meet Theresa Marryshow, head of Grenada’s local women’s farming organization, Grenrop. This behind-the-scenes farming experience highlights Grenrop’s dedication to community development and showcases Grenadian culinary traditions.

Grenada is renowned for producing some of the world’s finest cocoa beans. A visit to the island isn’t complete without exploring its award-winning organic dark chocolate, offering guests a firsthand look at the chocolate-making process and its cultural significance.

Culinary Delights from Land and Sea

Six Senses La Sagesse offers three restaurants, two bars, a bakery, and destination dining that reflects the Eat With Six Senses philosophy. The menus, crafted by Executive Chef Jason Miller, draw inspiration from Caribbean and South American cuisine, emphasizing health and flavor. Local produce from Grenada’s volcanic soil is a staple, ensuring freshness and a reduced carbon footprint. The dining experience is enhanced by a selection of cocktails, local and international wines, and specialty Grenadian rums.

A Fusion of Traditional and Modern Wellness Practices

The resort’s spa utilizes local spices with healing properties and draws on community knowledge and traditions to offer innovative wellness programs focused on sleep, movement, yoga, and longevity. The spa combines advanced and traditional therapies to support personal growth and reconnection. Guests can enjoy unique treatments like the Caribbean Cleansing Ritual, which incorporates local culture and is concluded with a refreshing local bush tea.

Conservation and Ecological Integration

Six Senses La Sagesse is committed to ecological conservation while providing a premier guest experience. The resort surrounds a natural lagoon, a critical habitat for diverse species, enhanced during development to support marine life. The lagoon’s tidal flow creates a natural environment for these species. The planting of fruits, nuts, and seeds encourages local wildlife and promotes the growth of native vegetation, integrating resilient ecosystems that adapt with the seasons.

Located just 35 minutes by car from Maurice Bishop International Airport, with regular flights from North America, Canada, and Europe, Six Senses La Sagesse offers an accessible Caribbean escape.
