Iran, visa-free,

Iran introduces a 15-day visa-free entry for Indian tourists, joining other countries like Vietnam, Thailand, and Sri Lanka in easing travel rules.

On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Tehran revealed a new plan that lets Indian tourists visit Iran without needing a visa for 15 days. The Iran Embassy shared this news, stating Indian visitors can now go to Iran every six months with a regular passport and stay for up to 15 days without the possibility of extending their visit.

This move makes Iran the newest country to offer easy access to Indian travelers, joining others like Vietnam, Thailand, and Sri Lanka, which have also simplified their visa requirements for tourists from India.

In a similar development, Malaysia announced last year that tourists from India and China could enter the country without a visa for 30 days starting from December 1. This decision was made by Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who also mentioned that visitors would still be checked for any criminal or violent history.

Thailand also joined in by allowing Indian tourists to enter without a visa for six months, starting November 10, as reported by the local media. This decision followed the Thai Cabinet’s agreement to let tourists from India and Taiwan visit Thailand for up to 30 days without a visa, until May 10, 2024.

Additionally, Sri Lanka has opened its doors visa-free to travelers from seven countries, including India, China, and Russia, making it easier for them to visit.
