Three rockets hit Baghdad International Airport killing five members of Iraqi paramilitary groups and two “guests”, Iraqi paramilitary groups said on Friday.
The Iraqi paramilitary groups said that three rockets had hit the Baghdad International Airport that killed five members of the Iraqi paramilitary groups along with two guests. Two vehicles were burnt and several injured when the Katyusha rockets landed near the air cargo terminal.
The rockets landed near the airport’s cargo hall which the Iraq’s Security Media Cell ( it sends information regarding the Iraqi security) mentioned in a release. Initially it was not clear the who had fired the rockets or who was targeted. Amid tension with the United States the attack came after the New Year’s Eve attack by Iran-backed militias on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
President Donald Trump was prompted by the two-day embassy attack to order about 750 U.S. soldiers deployed to the Middle East.
