Tourism Ireland, along with six Irish tourism companies, participated in the Travel News Market in Stockholm this week. The event aimed to showcase and promote Ireland to Swedish tour operators and travel agents, fostering collaboration and promoting tourism to the island.

The Travel News Market, a one-day B2B event, provided a valuable platform for Irish tourism companies to connect with influential Swedish travel trade and MICE buyers.

Through one-to-one, pre-scheduled appointments, these companies aimed to negotiate and secure important contracts for the year 2024, fostering collaboration and enhancing Ireland’s presence in the Swedish travel market.

Emer Mac Diarmada, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for the Nordic Region said that Tourism Ireland expressed delight in participating once again at the Travel News Market in Stockholm this year. She adds, “It was an excellent opportunity to inspire key Swedish travel professionals about all the great things to see and do on the island of Ireland to and a valuable platform for our partners from Ireland to showcase and sell their product.”

She further emphasized the significance of the Nordic Region as a crucial market for tourism to the island of Ireland. In 2019, they welcomed 256,000 Nordic visitors, contributing €116 million to the economy.
