Irish tourism to get a major bounce with Biden visit in 2024

In 2024, Ireland will confidently have record numbers of holidaymakers from North American as officials of the tourism industry forecasted an extraordinary ‘Biden Bounce’ as a consequence of the immensely successful visit of the US President.

Roughly, a 30pc-plus rise in queries from the US, Mexico and Canada have already been confirmed by few hotels in the wake of the widespread coverage of the four-day visit of Joe Biden to Ireland.

Next year, Aer Lingus, Delta and United, American Airlines are understood to be inspecting enhanced schedules for Ireland with added routes and improved flight frequency.

Paul Kelly, Fáilte Ireland chief executive, said that for Ireland, there was a major optimistic momentum in the core North American market on account of the visit of Mr Biden.

There is no doubt that few of that will change into bookings followed by visits. However, Paul added that now they also have a strong exchange between the euro and US dollar which is favorable to visits from the US.
