The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has unveiled an all-female leadership lineup with the election of Angela Walsh as president.
Angela Walsh, the CEO and founder of Frosch Ireland based in Cork, is a prominent figure in Ireland’s business travel sector and has been an active member of the ITAA for many years. With her election, she becomes the second woman to hold the position of ITAA president since 1970. Clare Dunne, the chief executive who previously served as president from 2012 to 2014, is another key leader within the association.
Emma McHugh, a board member since 2020 and the treasurer of Atlantic Travel in Letterkenny, Donegal, is the newly elected treasurer. Walsh takes over the presidency from Paul Hackett, co-founder of Click&Go, who held the position for the past two years.
Speaking at the association’s annual meeting in Dublin, Walsh expressed her honor at being elected as the ITAA president and highlighted her commitment to growing the association’s membership and enhancing support for existing members. She emphasized the collective ability of travel agents to evolve and adapt to changes in technology and the market. Clare Dunne expressed her support for Walsh and commended her dedication to the industry.
The ITAA’s all-female leadership marks a significant step in promoting diversity and women’s leadership within the travel industry. The outgoing president, Paul Hackett, was acknowledged for his contributions during a challenging period for the industry, and his commitment to the ITAA’s mission was recognized by the association.
