The Irish weather, dry and settled conditions return with warm temperatures as high pressure builds

Dry and settled weather is set to return this weekend after a wet few days, with temperatures remaining in the high teens. The drier conditions with sunny spells in the west will gradually spread across the country throughout the day.

However patchy drizzle will linger in eastern counties until evening and the highest temperatures will remain between 15C to 18 degree Celsius.

It will be a largely dry night with long clear spells and just light isolated showers, mostly near northern coasts. Lowest temperatures of 5C to 9C with mist and fog forming, becoming dense in places

Mist and fog patches will linger in some areas tomorrow morning, lifting to give a largely dry day with sunny spells.

A few light showers will continue in parts of Ulster. The highest temperatures will be of 13C to 15C.

Met Eireann have predicted a good deal of dry and settled weather for this week as high pressure builds over Ireland. The national forecaster said: Monday will be mostly dry for the morning with some sunny spells.

However, light outbreaks of rain will move in over Ulster through the morning, extending over the northern half of the country during the afternoon. Staying largely dry and sunny further south. The highest temperatures of 13C to 16C in a light to moderate west to northwest wind, fresher on northern coasts.

Patchy rain continuing over the north of the country but drier further south with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 4C to 8C. Mist and fog will once again develop in light northwesterly breezes. Highest temperatures generally of 13C to 15C in light westerly or variable breezes.

Much the same conditions on Wednesday but perhaps a bit cloudier. Dry for much of the country with just passing showers along northern and north-western coasts. Highest temperatures of 12C to 14C in light breezes.

A lot of uncertainty towards the end of the week but current indications suggest a breakdown to more unsettled conditions through Thursday and Friday.
