Around 1.97 million tourists had visited Israel, in the first half of 2023, spending around 11.7 billion shekels, as confirmed by the ministry.

However, these numbers are lower to the corresponding time of 2019. For Israeli tourism, this was a record year. Also, before the travel restrictions imposed due to coronavirus in 2020, it was the last full year of international travel.

Approximately 2.26 million tourists had entered Israel in the first half of Israel had 4.9 million visitors by the end of the year who had spent almost 8.46 billion shekels. The ministry observed that tourism from
Ukraine and Russia has declined rapidly from the time Russia broke war against Ukraine. Russia was the second largest source of tourism, prior to the war, just behind the US.

The ministry on the basis of current figures, projects around 3.9 million tourists by the end of 2023 will visit the country.

Tourism Minister Haim Katz, said that Israel is a gorgeous country and provides a wealth of experiences. He said that he will work to eliminate obstructions to enter the country and help in accelerate the speed of infrastructure construction. Also, he would be adding lodging rooms to understand the tourist potential.
