ITB China 2023 is gearing up to be an exceptional gathering of tourism industry leaders, travel destinations, and experts, with participation from approximately 360 tourism companies representing nearly 60 countries.

Taking place from September 12th to 14th at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, this year’s event is particularly significant as it coincides with the eagerly awaited return of China’s outbound tourism.

The event promises a myriad of opportunities for networking and insights into industry trends. Over 700 selected top Chinese buyers are expected to attend, providing a platform for global industry players to connect with the resurging Chinese market.

The theme of this year’s ITB China, “Crossing Barriers, Connecting Markets,” underscores its role in reestablishing international travel relationships.

David Axiotis, General Manager of Messe Berlin (Shanghai), expressed their commitment to reviving the travel industry and facilitating collaboration within the Chinese travel market. ITB China 2023 will commence with a CEO seminar a day before the main show, featuring discussions on “The Impact of Global Relations and the Economic Situation on China’s Inbound and Outbound Tourism Market.” An exclusive opening dinner will follow, co-hosted by Partner Destination Saudi Arabia, welcoming distinguished guests from both China and the global travel industry.

Visitors can expect to explore a diverse range of products and services from countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and Africa. The exhibition showcases innovative products and ideas spanning the entire travel industry spectrum, including destinations, accommodation, transportation, online travel agencies, travel technology, attractions, activities, and specialized and themed travel.

Key partners for ITB China 2023 include Saudi Arabia as the Official Partner Destination, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as the Official Partner Hotel, and Trip.com Group as the Official Travel Service Partner. Maldives, the Official Island Travel Partner, is set to transform its themed travel destination into a highlight of the show.

The ITB China Conference, organized in cooperation with partner TravelDaily, will feature over 70 speakers discussing more than 30 topics. Topics will encompass Destination Marketing, Hotel Tech and Distribution, Themed and Customized Travel, Business Travel, and MICE, reflecting the rapidly changing travel industry landscape.

One of the conference highlights is the ITB China Startup Award ceremony, recognizing innovative products and solutions within the tourism industry.

With over 700 high-profile Chinese buyers, the event’s matchmaking system ensures productive meetings and valuable connections. Networking opportunities, including the ITB China & Trip.com Cruise Night, Themed & Customized Travel Networking Lunch, and Malaysia Cocktail Party, will foster meaningful relationships within the travel industry.

Attendees can enhance their experience with the ITB China App, which offers exhibitor information, event photos, conference agendas, and e-business card exchange and instant messaging functions, facilitating communication and business opportunities during and after the event. ITB China 2023 promises to be an enriching and pivotal event, reconnecting global travel suppliers with the resurgent Chinese market and guiding the industry forward.
