The latest wave of Covid-19 in Hong Kong saw the daily new cases rose in late February to a new high of over 35000! Accordingly, TKS the organizer decides to reschedule ITE 2022 from the original June dates to August 18 (THU) -21 (SUN) in the same year to better balance between participants safety and speeding up recovery!
On 18 August and in the morning of 19 Aug, as in its last edition, ITE 2022 will only admit registered trade and professionals whose badge allow them unlimited entry in these two days. In remaining session and days, visitors can pay entrance fee for admission.
Subsidy Schemes Remain Applicable
The rescheduled ITE 2022 remains eligible to the Convention & Exhibition Industry Subsidy Scheme (CEISS) offered by the Hong Kong Government, and TKS will continue sharing the CEISS subsidy with all exhibitors. That mean those already paid on or before Dec 30 last year can still enjoy a 20% discount on rental, while other exhibitors a 10% discount if pay on or before the next deadline which will now be extended to June 30.
Previously, ITE 2022 has been shortlisted so Hong Kong exhibitors can apply the government’s Export Marketing Fund (EMF) subsidy which offers a maximum of 50% rental and incidental expenses or HK$100,000 whichever the smaller. We do not expect the postponement will change ITE 2022 status, but interested parties please follow related announcement in our website in the near future for update.
ITE 2022’s new date, which is about 6 months from now, will leave sufficient cushion for preparations! Earlier, several local experts predicted this current wave will likely peak in March! More importantly, helps from the mainland already on the way will significantly step up the city’s capability to bring the current wave of COVID-19 under control.
The Venue
Instead of the usual halls 1, the rescheduled ITE 2022 will be held in Halls 3D and 3E as HKCEC this year has a tight schedule which, however still be able to accommodate a 50% expansion over ITE 2021. In fact, more organizers relaunch exhibitions as Hong Kong been largely free of locally infected case in the second half of last year! Also, the current Covid-19 wave result in many exhibitions originally scheduled for the first few months this year be postponed! All limit choices on venue and date!
Confidence on ITE 2022
In any case, we are confident of holding a successful ITE 2022 for the following reasons:
Held in July 2021, the last ITE was attended by 2544 buyers and trade visitors, 27106 public visitors, and from 18 countries and regions over 100 exhibitors with two-third from outside Hong Kong.
