James Beard winner Nancy Silverton joins Four Seasons Anguilla as chef

Renowned chef, baker, author, and James Beard Award winner, Chef Nancy Silverton, will grace Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla with her presence from January 12 to 15, 2024. This culinary maestro joins the esteemed Chef in Residence program, an initiative by the resort that invites world-class chefs and mixologists to share their craft and create unparalleled gastronomic experiences.

Teaming up with Resort Executive Chef Manu Calderon and his skilled team, Chef Silverton will craft exquisite dishes using the island’s rich offerings. Her renowned Italian cuisine and the essence of Mozza will be brought to life, showcasing her culinary artistry and cementing her status as an icon in the world of food.

Chef Silverton’s culinary journey commenced with a quest to perfect her pastry skills, leading her to the prestigious Lenotre Culinary Institute in France. Her career blossomed when she assumed the role of head pastry chef at Wolfgang Puck’s groundbreaking restaurant, Spago, in southern California.

A self-taught expert in bread baking, Silverton’s passion birthed the La Brea Bakery in 1989. What began in a modest storefront has evolved into the nation’s foremost artisan bakery, spanning 11 locations and reaching 17 countries worldwide. Her exceptional talents were acknowledged when she was named “Pastry Chef of the Year” by the James Beard Foundation in 1990, and later honored with the coveted James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef in America in 2014.

Beyond her restaurant endeavors, Chef Silverton is a prolific author with 11 cookbooks, sharing her culinary wisdom and passion for exceptional cuisine. Her recent work, “The Cookie That Changed My Life: And More Than 100 Other Classic Cakes, Cookies, Muffins & Pies That Will Change Yours,” achieved New York Times bestseller status, further solidifying her impact on the culinary world.
