Jammu & Kashmir Tourism showcases its diverse offerings at India International Travel Mart (IITM) Kolkata, highlighting adventure, pilgrimage, and leisure tourism.
To promote tourism across the country, the Department of Tourism, Jammu & Kashmir, actively participated in the India International Travel Mart (IITM) Kolkata.

During the event, the J&K Tourism team, led by the Additional Secretary, engaged deeply with the media and met with prominent travel operators from Eastern India. They highlighted the incredible tourism opportunities offered by Jammu & Kashmir, a region known for its stunning natural landscapes, from vast meadows and dense forests to snow-covered mountains, pristine lakes, and picturesque valleys.
The delegation was composed of Mr. Owais Mushtaq, Additional Secretary of Tourism; Ms. Savita Chouhan, Deputy Director of Tourism Jammu; Mr. Nasir Mehmood, Deputy Director of Tourism Kashmir; and Dr. Ahsan Ul Haq, Officer-In-Charge of J&K Tourism Office in Kolkata.
The team showcased the diverse tourism offerings of Jammu & Kashmir, including Pilgrim Tourism for visitors to Vaishno Devi and Amarnath, Adventure Tourism featuring trekking, skiing, white-water rafting, mountaineering, and paragliding, as well as Leisure Tourism, which highlights the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Mr. Mushtaq delivered an insightful presentation on the wide array of tourism products and services available, underlining the department’s commitment to enhancing visitor experiences and promoting responsible tourism practices. The delegation also invited media members to visit J&K and experience the region’s diverse offerings firsthand, assuring that the state is one of the safest tourist destinations, with a zero-crime rate against visitors and a global reputation for being safe for women travelers.

Jammu & Kashmir’s beauty changes with each season, from the vibrant spring blossoms to the golden hues of autumn and serene, snow-covered winters. The team also discussed the impressive growth in tourist arrivals, with J&K welcoming 1.88 crore visitors in 2022, 2.11 crore in 2023, and 2.37 crore in 2024, reflecting the region’s increasing appeal and the effectiveness of the tourism department’s efforts.
Jammu & Kashmir continues to be a leading force in India’s tourism industry, solidifying its status as a premier travel destination through impactful promotions and strong presence at events like IITM Kolkata.
