Japan emerges as new tourism market for Fiji

According to Tourism Fiji’s weekly report, occupancy is high this month, with an 88 percent average daily rate.


According to the report, future reservations are showing a favourable trend, with a healthy lift and fewer cancellations last week.


Japan has emerged as an active country in terms of booking for flights to Fiji, indicating increased market demand.


Tourism Fiji also reports an increase in searches for shorter lengths of stay over longer ones. It goes on to say that this is an unusual departure from past months.


Fijian properties had an 87% occupancy rate last month. In comparison to 2019, occupancy rates have increased by 9%, and in comparison to 2022, occupancy rates have increased by 10%.
