The new member properties are spread across six dynamic countries – Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and the brand’s long-awaited return to India. In China, The ArcadiaPlace at Lugu Lake introduces a striking design language inspired by the surrounding snow-capped peaks of Sichuan. Conceived by IMAGO, the property celebrates the cultural traditions of the Mosuo people, whose matriarchal society has shaped the identity of the region for centuries.
In Thailand, Public House in Bangkok brings a contemporary interpretation of a British gentleman’s club to the bustling Sukhumvit district. Designed by 4b Architects, the hotel blends social openness with refined minimalism, creating a welcoming hub for travelers seeking a fresh take on urban hospitality.

Japan’s newest member, Yoruya, sits within the serene city of Kurashiki. With just 13 rooms, the hotel draws inspiration from Edo-period townhouses, preserving the elegance of traditional Japanese craftsmanship while offering an intimate, slow-paced retreat for guests.
Malaysia welcomes ELSE Kuala Lumpur, a meticulously restored 1930s heritage building that has become a cultural landmark in the city’s vibrant downtown. Its rejuvenated spaces reflect the creative energy shaping Kuala Lumpur’s modern identity, making it a beacon of design-forward hospitality.
In Indonesia, Magia de Uma in Bali introduces a new philosophy of quiet transformation and mindful travel. Positioned above the rice fields of Canggu, the property offers an immersive sense of place, emphasizing authenticity and deep connection with local landscapes.
Design Hotels also returns to India with Hotel Irada in Pune, a landmark property set within a 66-acre working winery on a historic estate. The hotel offers a rare blend of heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary hospitality, marking an important new chapter for the brand in South Asia.
Beyond Asia Pacific, the brand continues expanding its footprint across Europe, the Americas, and the Caribbean. The global portfolio has recorded a 15 percent increase in the past year, with notable additions such as Esperanza Lake Resort in Lithuania, Stieg’nhaus in Austria, and Voaara in Madagascar. Growth across the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America has also been robust, with 11 new properties joining the community across destinations including Miami, Atlanta, Asheville, Capistrano Beach in California, Valle de Guadalupe, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia. Together, these properties bring 828 new keys to the Design Hotels network.
As the portfolio expands, member hotels increasingly leverage a comprehensive suite of brand services. These include public relations support, global sales strategies, digital marketing, content creation, website development, and access to the extensive Marriott Bonvoy® platform, enabling properties to connect with millions of loyal travelers worldwide.
This phase of global growth coincides with Design Hotels’ relocation to a new headquarters in Berlin.
