Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have accelerated the introduction of their latest city destination, Porto, to Summer 2024 from Manchester Airport due to overwhelming demand for city breaks and flights.
In November, the companies initially revealed plans to launch flights and city breaks to Porto for Summer 2025 from Birmingham and Manchester Airports.
Excitingly for customers and independent travel agents, this initiative has now been moved up to Summer 2024 from Manchester Airport, with the inaugural flights scheduled for July 4, 2024.
From that date until November 3, 2024, the companies will operate two weekly services (on Thursday and Sunday), allowing customers to experience the charm of the renowned Portuguese city ahead of schedule.
The Summer 2024 launch of Porto provides holidaymakers with access to the largest city in northern Portugal, offering a blend of rich history, sightseeing opportunities, delectable cuisine, vibrant nightlife, and serene relaxation. Nestled along the Douro River, this delightful city seamlessly combines urban excitement with beautiful beaches along Portugal’s coastline, catering to couples, families, and groups of friends alike. Visitors can indulge in cultural exploration through world-class museums and galleries, meander through labyrinthine streets for shopping, or unwind on the picturesque beaches of Foz do Douro.
With the addition of Porto for Summer 2024, Jet2 now boasts 59 destinations available from Manchester Airport for the upcoming summer season.
As the UK’s premier leisure airline and the foremost operator of European city breaks, Jet2 will continue to operate flights and city breaks to Porto from Birmingham and Manchester Airports in 2025. The two weekly services (Thursday and Sunday) from both bases will run during Summer 2025.
