JetBlue presently operates in various Florida cities, including Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Miami, West Palm Beach, Key West, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Sarasota/Bradenton, and Tampa. The addition of Tallahassee to its service map expands its reach to over 40 destinations from Fort Lauderdale.
United States Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz commented, “I’m delighted to witness additional travel options for Floridians commuting between South Florida and our state capital. This could be the starting point for connecting all regions of our state to Florida’s vital seat of government and neighboring areas through South Florida at FLL.”
Mark Gale, FLL CEO/Director of Aviation, commended JetBlue’s launch, stating, “We welcome JetBlue’s nonstop flight service from Fort Lauderdale to Tallahassee, meeting the demand from frequent travelers seeking more flight options between these two Florida destinations. This marks a fantastic start to 2024, and we anticipate ongoing collaboration with JetBlue as it envisions further growth at FLL.”
Connecting South Florida to the State Capital is crucial due to Tallahassee’s role as the Florida state capital and its significance as home to major universities. JetBlue’s daily service offers an affordable and convenient option for business travelers, students, and leisure passengers, enabling seamless connections from Tallahassee to various JetBlue destinations via Fort Lauderdale.

This allows us, representing Broward’s constituents, to access Tallahassee affordably, bypassing a seven-hour drive.”
Tallahassee International Airport, owned and operated by the City of Tallahassee, aims to deliver an outstanding travel experience. Substantial city investments have propelled Tallahassee International Airport to become a major economic force in North Florida. With new air services and significant infrastructure projects like the International Processing Facility underway, TLH anticipates serving one million passengers in 2024.
Mayor John Dailey of the City of Tallahassee expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m excited about the launch of JetBlue’s direct, daily service between Florida’s capital and Fort Lauderdale. We eagerly await passengers utilizing this new air service option at Tallahassee International Airport. Intra-state travel significantly contributes to our economy, and our airport’s partnership with JetBlue offers a convenient link to and from South Florida, benefiting residents and visitors alike.”
