For promoting tourism, the Jharkhand government has recognized five new sites for developing a skywalk in Ranchi similar to Pelling and Rajgir. The Jharkhand tourism department carried an initial viability study, identifying these sites. The plan might become a reality by the end of this year.

The state tourism department is now in search of expert agencies to supervise the implementation of the project. An official said that the department is aiming to set up skywalk at Patratu in Ramgarh, Netarhat in Latehar along with three spots in Ranchi — Hundru, Jonha and Dassam Falls. All of them are conspicuous tourist spots mingling leisure and adventure tourism with several tourists visiting throughout the year both from within the state and adjoining areas.

Patratu in Ramgarh is popular for its natural and picturesque beauty. There’s also a Patratu Thermal Power Station and dam built with Russian partnership in 1962. Netarhat is also a pretty little hill station in Latehar district. It is celebrated as the ‘Queen of Chotanagpur’ and is famous for Netarhat Residential School. Hundru is a well-known and beautiful waterfall in Ranchi and is also the 34th highest in India.

Johna is another conspicuous waterfall located around 45 kms from Ranchi. There’s also a Lord Buddha temple close by.

Likewise, Dassam Falls, also known as Dassam Ghagh, is an attractive waterfall near Taimara village in Ranchi. It is a popular tourist spot visited by locals and tourists.
