BWH Hotels Opens @HOME by Best Western Hotel in Georgia
BWH Hotels has expanded its extended-stay portfolio with the opening of @HOME by Best Western McDonough, a newly built, five-storey hotel with 128 suites in McDonough, Georgia.
The opening represents the first @HOME by Best Western property in Georgia and the wider Southeast region of the United States. Developed by Raj Patel and Apsilon Hotels, the property has been positioned to serve travellers staying for several nights, weeks or longer.
Its location at 34 Liberty Industrial Parkway, close to Interstate 75 Exit 216, places the hotel within a major logistics and industrial corridor south of Atlanta.
Why has McDonough become an important extended-stay market?
McDonough is benefiting from significant industrial and distribution activity along the I-75 corridor. According to the information provided by BWH Hotels, the surrounding area includes more than 80 million square feet of industrial and distribution facilities.

The area also includes Norfolk Southern’s corporate training facility and a growing workforce requiring accommodation for business assignments, training programmes, relocations and project-based employment.
For @HOME by Best Western, this creates a market in which guests may require more than a conventional overnight hotel room.

The property is also close to Historic Downtown McDonough, Heritage Park and Atlanta Motor Speedway, giving the hotel a leisure component alongside its business-focused demand.
What does the new @HOME by Best Western hotel offer?
The 128 suites have been designed around the practical requirements of extended-stay guests. Each suite includes a kitchen and workspace, allowing guests to prepare meals and maintain a working environment during longer visits.

The hotel also provides community areas, a lobby market, fitness centre and guest laundry facilities.
A further feature is on-property storage. Dedicated storage closets allow guests to keep personal belongings outside their guestrooms, an amenity particularly relevant to people staying for extended periods.
The property also offers complimentary self-parking, including wide-berth spaces designed to accommodate larger trucks and recreational vehicles.
EV charging facilities and pet-friendly accommodation further broaden the hotel’s appeal.

Who is the McDonough hotel designed to serve?
The property has been developed to accommodate several extended-stay segments rather than relying exclusively on traditional leisure demand.
Business travellers, project-based workers, employees undergoing relocation and people attending corporate training programmes are among the audiences identified for the hotel.
Its proximity to industrial and distribution facilities is particularly relevant because extended-stay accommodation can provide businesses with a practical lodging option when employees need to remain near a worksite for an extended period.
At the same time, the hotel’s access to Atlanta-area attractions means leisure travellers can also use the property as a base.
What does the opening mean for @HOME by Best Western?
The McDonough opening is the second @HOME by Best Western property to open in the United States, following the brand’s launch in St. George, Utah.
The brand has also expanded internationally with an opening in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada.

Another @HOME by Best Western property is planned for Fairburn, Georgia, with the second Atlanta-area hotel scheduled to open in 2027. Like the McDonough property, the Fairburn development is being led by Apsilon Hotels.
BWH Hotels says its broader extended-stay portfolio is expected to reach a global pipeline of 34 hotels and 2,791 rooms by the end of 2026.
Why is extended-stay accommodation gaining attention?
Extended-stay hotels occupy a distinct position between conventional hotels and residential accommodation. Guests receive hotel services while gaining features such as kitchens, workspaces, laundry facilities and additional storage that can make longer stays more practical.
BWH Hotels is positioning @HOME by Best Western around this combination of convenience and residential-style functionality.
For hotel owners, the model is also being promoted as an efficient operating proposition designed specifically for longer-stay demand.
Brad LeBlanc, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for BWH Hotels, said extended-stay remains a resilient segment and described @HOME by Best Western as a growth vehicle for developers.

The comments reflect the company’s wider strategy of expanding its presence in a hospitality segment increasingly connected with workforce mobility, business projects and relocation activity.
What comes next for BWH Hotels?
The McDonough opening gives @HOME by Best Western a new foothold in the Southeast and adds another location to the company’s developing extended-stay network.
The planned Fairburn opening in 2027 would provide the brand with a second property in the Atlanta metropolitan area, strengthening its presence in a region where industrial development and population growth continue to influence accommodation requirements.
For Apsilon Hotels, the opening also expands its relationship with BWH Hotels. The company currently oversees 18 Atlanta-area hotels, including Best Western Plus Atlanta Airport-East and Best Western Plus Fairburn-Atlanta Southwest.
The McDonough property therefore represents both a new hotel opening and a broader test of how @HOME by Best Western can serve markets shaped by business travel, industrial development and longer-term accommodation demand.
The opening of @HOME by Best Western McDonough adds 128 extended-stay suites to Georgia’s rapidly developing I-75 corridor and strengthens BWH Hotels’ presence in the Southeast. The property combines apartment-style features, including kitchens and workspaces, with hotel amenities such as a fitness centre, lobby market, laundry facilities, EV charging and complimentary parking. Its location near major industrial and distribution facilities gives the hotel a clear business and workforce accommodation role, while nearby attractions broaden its leisure appeal. The opening also demonstrates the continued development of the @HOME by Best Western brand, which now has properties in the United States and Canada. With another Georgia hotel planned for Fairburn in 2027 and a broader extended-stay pipeline expected to reach 34 hotels and 2,791 rooms by the end of 2026, BWH Hotels is continuing to build its presence in this specialised accommodation segment.

The cause behind the McDonough opening is the growing need for practical accommodation near Georgia’s expanding logistics, industrial and distribution activity. The answer is a purpose-built @HOME by Best Western hotel offering 128 suites with kitchens, workspaces, storage and facilities designed around longer stays. The reason for its location is equally clear: the property sits near Interstate 75, major employment centres and more than 80 million square feet of industrial and distribution facilities. As a result, the hotel can serve project workers, relocating employees, corporate trainees and business travellers, while also providing leisure access to McDonough’s attractions and the wider Atlanta area.
“BWH Hotels’ opening of @HOME by Best Western McDonough highlights the continuing evolution of extended-stay hospitality in strategically important travel and business markets. The combination of apartment-style suites, practical guest amenities and a location close to major logistics and industrial facilities gives the property a clear purpose within the growing McDonough accommodation landscape. The development also demonstrates how hotel brands are responding to changing travel patterns, particularly among project workers, corporate travellers, relocating employees and guests requiring longer stays. With further @HOME by Best Western expansion planned, this opening represents another significant step in strengthening the brand’s presence across the United States and supporting the wider growth of extended-stay tourism and business accommodation.”
