Jumeirah Group appoints Rizwan Shaikh as GM of Jabal Omar Jumeirah

Jumeirah Group has appointed Rizwan Shaikh as the General Manager for Jabal Omar Jumeirah, which is set to become the group’s first hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Positioned just a three-minute walk from Masjid Al Haram, one of the holiest sites in Islam, the hotel will be a significant addition to Jumeirah’s portfolio, offering 1,033 rooms and suites, along with 88 apartments when fully operational.

Thomas B. Meier, the Chief Operating Officer of Jumeirah Group, expressed his excitement about Rizwan Shaikh’s appointment and the brand’s expansion into strategic global locations, with Saudi Arabia being a pivotal market for their luxury hospitality.

He believes that Shaikh’s impressive track record in delivering operational excellence and his expertise in luxury hospitality in the Kingdom will contribute to the success of Jabal Omar Jumeirah, elevating the standards of luxury and service in Saudi Arabia.

Jabal Omar Jumeirah is strategically located at the heart of the Muslim world, offering a serene and luxurious experience to guests visiting this significant religious site. The hotel, spread across four towers and featuring signature dining venues, is part of the second phase of the Jabal Omar project, designed by Fosters + Partners. Jumeirah’s second property in the Kingdom, Jumeirah The Red Sea, is slated to open in 2024.
