The Tourism Business Council considers that dearth of marketing effort is holding back Kariba from satisfying its possibilities as a foreign tourism hub.
So, the council has requested the stakeholders to work jointly in ensuring that the northern Zimbabwe gets a well-thought out marketing campaign.
Wengayi Nhau, TBC president, said that Kariba is a tourist hotspot with huge potential and taking into account what it offers, it has the tremendous potential to be a tourism leader. The official stated that Kariba region has all characteristics to become a viable destination regionally, locally, as well as internationally.
Nhau also said that a place’s competitive benefit is enhanced by fundamental elements like transport networks and tourism infrastructure.
More prominently are the cultural attributes of Kariba which are legendary in many ways, as per the official.
Nhau said that keeping in mind the location and its wide display of tourist attributes, it is crucial to value that access to all these assets play an important role in making movement of visitors easy to and from all the destinations.
It is a place in the middle of a wildlife corridor.
Jesse Zvikonyaukwa, Tour guide and wildlife expert, said that everyone should be prepared to give way to elephants and other wild animals, walking along the roads in the town’s occupied sections at any time during the day or at night.
