Published on November 24, 2025

Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS) has launched an exciting new initiative to elevate Karnataka as one of India’s top tourism destinations. This ambitious campaign, aimed at strengthening the state’s tourism sector, will take the form of a series of Destination Promotion B2B (business-to-business) Roadshows. Scheduled across key cities in South India, the roadshows aim to attract more travelers to Karnataka by showcasing its rich heritage, natural beauty, and diverse tourism offerings.

In partnership with the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), and Jungle Lodges & Resorts Ltd. (JLR), the campaign is a strategic push to place Karnataka at the forefront of both domestic and regional tourism markets.

The Roadshow Series: A Targeted Approach

The roadshow series will begin in Coimbatore on November 25, 2025, and continue with events in Cochin, Madurai, and Salem, concluding on November 28, 2025. These carefully selected cities in Tamil Nadu and Kerala were chosen due to their proximity to Karnataka and their growing tourism markets. The roadshows are designed to engage local travel agents, tour operators, and hospitality providers, enabling them to directly connect with key tourism stakeholders from Karnataka.

By creating a platform for business networking, KTS aims to foster partnerships between Karnataka’s tourism operators and their counterparts in South India. This initiative will also allow tourism professionals to learn more about the unique experiences Karnataka has to offer, encouraging them to promote the state more actively among their clients.

Showcasing Karnataka’s Rich Diversity

Karnataka is renowned for its vast array of tourism experiences, making it an ideal destination for travelers with varied interests. The state is home to scenic hill stations like Coorg and Chikmagalur, where visitors can enjoy the cool weather, coffee plantations, and breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. The historic ruins of Hampi, Badami, and Aihole attract history enthusiasts, while the temples and ancient monuments speak volumes about Karnataka’s rich cultural and architectural legacy.

For nature lovers and adventure seekers, Karnataka offers numerous wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, such as Bandipur, Nagarhole, and Bhadra. These parks provide opportunities for thrilling safaris and birdwatching, where travelers can spot a wide range of animals including tigers, elephants, and exotic bird species. The state also caters to adventure tourism, with opportunities for river rafting, trekking, rock climbing, and camping in the pristine forests of the Western Ghats.

Luxury travelers can also find top-tier resorts and eco-friendly retreats in Karnataka. These properties, offering world-class amenities and services, provide the perfect escape for those looking to experience both nature and comfort in style. In addition, the state’s growing wellness and yoga tourism sector attracts visitors seeking peace and rejuvenation amidst serene landscapes.

Enhancing Regional Connectivity

While Karnataka has long been a popular destination for travelers, especially from within India, the regional roadshow campaign focuses on further enhancing its appeal in neighboring South Indian states. Tamil Nadu and Kerala, two of India’s most visited states, have well-established travel markets, and Karnataka aims to tap into this potential by showcasing its diverse tourism offerings to these audiences.

The South Indian market is particularly valuable because of the strong cultural, historical, and geographical ties between these regions and Karnataka. Many travelers from Tamil Nadu and Kerala already visit Karnataka for its hill stations, cultural sites, and wildlife parks. Through these roadshows, KTS aims to deepen relationships with local travel agents and encourage even more visitors from these regions to choose Karnataka as their next holiday destination.

A Platform for Collaboration

The roadshows will feature a wide range of tourism stakeholders from Karnataka, including hoteliers, resort operators, tour operators, and government tourism representatives. By bringing together these diverse players, KTS aims to create an ecosystem that facilitates more collaboration between businesses and enhances the overall tourism experience for travelers.

For instance, participants will include luxury resorts, heritage hotels, wildlife resorts, and eco-friendly accommodations, all of which offer a unique experience that represents the best of Karnataka. Travel agents attending the roadshows will have the opportunity to engage with these providers, forge new partnerships, and learn about exclusive deals and packages designed to attract more visitors to the state.

Roadshow Itinerary

The B2B Roadshow campaign will take place in the following cities:

These cities were selected due to their strong tourism potential and proximity to Karnataka, making them ideal locations for promoting the state as a top travel destination.

Long-Term Benefits for Karnataka’s Tourism Sector

The Regional Market Expansion Campaign is not only designed to promote Karnataka as a tourism destination but also to strengthen the state’s position in the competitive tourism market. By fostering closer ties with South India’s travel professionals, the roadshows are expected to create long-term benefits for Karnataka’s tourism industry, including an increase in the number of visitors, heightened visibility in regional markets, and greater collaboration between stakeholders.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance Karnataka’s visibility as a leading tourism hub in India, ensuring that it continues to attract travelers from across the country and beyond. By focusing on both the luxury and adventure tourism sectors, KTS is positioning the state as a diverse and attractive destination that caters to all types of travelers.

Looking Ahead

As the roadshow campaign unfolds, KTS aims to continue its outreach to other key markets within India. The success of this regional expansion effort is expected to drive Karnataka’s tourism growth in the years to come. With its rich culture, diverse landscapes, and growing tourism infrastructure, Karnataka is well-positioned to remain one of India’s most desirable and dynamic destinations for domestic travelers.
