The unveiling of the INDIA selfie point in Kashmir’s Uri area, crafted by artist Rouble Nagi, has drawn tourists to its breathtaking views of the Jhelum River. Positioned near the Line of Control (LoC), this landmark has quickly become a favorite spot for capturing the stunning scenery of Uri’s border territory alongside the Jhelum River’s scenic backdrop, according to local authorities. This attraction not only allows visitors to enjoy the natural beauty but also instills a patriotic feeling, symbolized through the artistic endeavor.
Last year, the military opened the ‘Kaman Setu,’ a point at the LoC, to the public, and the selfie point was made accessible to visitors around Republic Day this year. Designed by Rouble Nagi, the founder of RNAF known for her commitment to women’s empowerment, the selfie point is cleverly placed near National Highway-44. This location not only offers a sweeping view of the Jhelum River but also elevates the sense of pride among both residents and tourists.
The military has expressed gratitude towards Nagi’s foundation for the donation of the selfie point, highlighting it as a symbol of growing patriotism in the area. “The creation of this selfie point aimed to foster a unique and interactive atmosphere for both individuals and groups,” the military stated. Nagi herself views the art piece as a homage to the nation, honoring the sacrifices made by many for the country’s independence.
