The Keelung City Government is gearing up to participate in the Taiwan Travel Fair, scheduled to be held at Marina Square in Singapore from April 19 to 21. During this event, they will showcase Keelung, Taiwan’s premier coastal city, to the Singaporean public. Notable for its unique blend of urban and harbor landscapes, Keelung has been recognized as Asia’s top cruise home port. The city extends a warm invitation to Singaporeans to discover its enchanting maritime charm, situated amidst mountains, sea, and ports.

Keelung City places high importance on attracting tourists from Singapore and is eager to present its array of tourist attractions. Highlights include the Heping Island Geopark, celebrated as one of the global top 21 sunrise locations, the bustling Kanzaiding Fish Market akin to Japan’s Tsukiji Market, the scenic Waimushan Shore Walk—one of Taiwan’s top ten waterfronts, and the historic 300-year-old Cing-An Temple. Activities such as sea fishing and diving, local festivals including the Chaojing Bay Festival, the Mid-Summer Ghost Festival, and the Ocean Eagle Carnival are also on offer. Additionally, Keelung is famous for its culinary scene, often described as having “a culinary delight every five steps,” with offerings like fresh seafood, braised pork rice, and bubble ice from the MiaoKou Night Market ensuring a rich experience for visitors.

At the event in Marina Square, Keelung will provide a virtual reality experience that vividly brings the city to life. Highlights include the colorful Zhengbin Fishing Port, iconic landmarks with Hollywood-inspired designs, the serene Bleu & Book set against a backdrop of mountains and sea, the historical Xiner Air-raid Shelter, and the newly built Keelung Tower which offers panoramic views from its 19th-floor skywalk. Additionally, visitors can see the 22.5-meter Guanyin Buddha at Zhongzheng Park and savor the diverse flavors of the MiaoKou Night Market. An engaging on-site scanning activity will also allow attendees to collect exclusive souvenirs featuring iconic Keelung imagery.

Furthermore, to facilitate understanding and engagement, the Keelung City Government will distribute brochures in both Chinese and English, inviting Singaporeans to explore and enjoy the unexpected delights of this vibrant seaside city.
