The government of Kerala is preparing to uphold the monsoon tourism of the state across West Asia for
luring the highly encouraging market before the summer holiday beginning next month in the Gulf area.

This strategic marketing campaign is targeted toward attracting tourists to Kerala during July and August
when the rainy spell leads to the pleasant weather conditions in the state compared to the sweltering
Middle East during that time. This campaign is probable to bring an influx of Arab travelers to the charming background of Kerala, where the pleasant weather conditions provide the holidays idyllic for Ayurveda- based wellness at the same time.

The Kerala government has approved Rs. 7 crores for this campaign concentrating on the airports at Dubai and Doha. Marketing is being conducted across the visual media, print and radio in the Gulf.

As an introduction, last month, Kerala Tourism exhibited a comprehensive display of its products and
themes in Dubai throughout the 30th edition of the Arabian Travel Market. It also carried on road shows in Muscat, Riyadh and Dammam. The early-May actions strengthened Kerala worldwide status as an important experiential tourism center.

P.A. Mohamed Riyas, the Tourism Minister of Kerala said that Kerala, witnessing a record-breaking arrival of local tourists, now aims to sharply increase the numbers of tourists from abroad. Kerala Tourism also
plans to bring in smart packages for tourists from Arab, who generally visit in large groups and devote their vacations in particular places.
