The seventh edition of the Kerala Literature Festival is scheduled to take place from January 11 to 14, 2024, on the beaches of Kozhikode. Following the success of KLF 2023 with a half-million-footfall, KLF has become Asia’s Largest Literature Festival. Organized by DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and co-promoted by DC Books, KLF 2024 will host Nobel laureates, Booker Prize winners, literary luminaries, media personalities, and celebrities. Renowned Writer Prof. K Satchidanandan serves as the Festival Director.
The Unesco Creative Cities Network (UCCN) named KOZHIKODE, the preferred location for the Kerala Literature Festival, the “City of Literature,” making it the first city of its kind in India. At the Kozhikode beach in Kerala, the Festival will take place over four days in six venues with more than 400 international speakers. The event will be inaugurated by Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala.
Anticipated to be a grand celebration of literature and culture, the seventh edition of the Kerala Literature Festival will feature Turkish literature and art forms as the guest country of honour. The other participating nations are the UK, Wales, Spain, Japan, USA, Malaysia, Spain, and France
The initial list of speakers includes Arundhati Roy, Mallika Sarabhai, Shashi Tharoor, Piyush Pandey, Prahlad Kakkar, William Dalrymple, Gurucharan Das, Mani Shankar Aiyer, Catherine Ann Jones, Monika Halan, Durjoy Dutta, Manu S Pillai. The Festival will also host concerts by TM Krishna and Vikku Vinayakram; Surbahar and Sitar concert by Padmabhushan Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee.
The sessions at KLF cover a wide array of topics including Science & Technology, History & Politics, Environment, Literature, Business & Entrepreneurship, Health, Art, Cinema, Theatre, Music & Leisure, Travel & Tourism, Gender, and Economy, exploring diverse facets that shape human consciousness.
