In April, the Korea-China sea travel routes are probably to recommence its operation as the foreign car ferry services at Incheon ferry terminal plan to conclude the three-year break caused by the pandemic.
Many companies have declared about their plans to resume passenger transport services between Incheon and other Chinese cities and started selling travel packages.
The precise resumption date is yet to be made public, but the reopening of the industry comes in the wake of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters’ declaration earlier March to raise all rules related to travel like travelers from China, Macau and Hong Kong need to undergo mandatory PCR tests.
The health authorities took a decision to end restrictions related to travel against China and neighbouring countries as the country has witnessed a steady trend in new covid cases for over a month after Jan Spring Festival holidays and because there have been no signs of any new variant in and outside the country.
The three-year break due to pandemic has damaged the Incheon Ferry Terminal’s ferry businesses.
Over 1 million passengers travelled via car ferries to Korea before the pandemic hit the world from 10 Chinese cities, including Dalian, Qingdao, and Tianjin in 2019.
From the time the terminal had all passenger transport stopped in February 2020, companies related to terminal and shipping has only been transporting cargo.
