KSRTC is set to cross borders now

The KSRTC Budget Tourism project provides reasonable travel and lodging facilities. This attractive deal attracts people to book their tour packages in advance without giving a second thought. Also, a couple of old KSRTC buses have been revamped into sleeper dorms and stationed at tourist destinations. They have all the basic amenities in built, like a lavatory along with a washroom. Two years back, budget tourism effort the state buses were introduced as a major crowd puller. Though by travel flight and train services still rule the roost, in Kerala, this new pocket-friendly way to explore new places have caught the attention of many people and backpackers.

Of late, the state corporation has taken a decision to take this two-year old initiative to the next level by crossing borders. In this pocket-friendly way, KSRTC is planning to explore places like Ooty and Bangalore in these revamped buses. At this moment, talks are being carried out with the authorities of these border
states so that this effort can be conducted seamlessly. If granted green signal, it would a revolution for KSRTC, breathing a new lease of life into it. Here, mainly the local travel aficionados will be targeted to go to border regions of Kerala.
