The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Business Events Alliance (KLCCBEA), in collaboration with KLCC Holdings, has officially kicked off the 3rd edition of Sustainable September in Kuala Lumpur. The event, inaugurated on September 12, 2025, is centred around the theme “Liveable and Lovable Precinct”, aligning with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) vision of creating a liveable and lovable city. This year’s campaign is designed to enhance both environmental health and community wellbeing within the KLCC precinct, positioning it as a model for how business and leisure can thrive sustainably in the heart of the city. The campaign reflects KLCC Precinct’s commitment to advancing sustainable urban living, supported by ongoing collaboration with Urbanice Malaysia.
The Sustainable September initiative is part of an ongoing effort to integrate sustainability into everyday life within the KLCC Precinct. This year’s campaign aims to raise awareness about the need for sustainable living while encouraging community involvement and support for green initiatives. The main objective is to highlight how the integration of environmentally-friendly practices and social wellbeing can coexist harmoniously in urban spaces. The initiative also emphasizes the importance of aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and showcases the KLCC Precinct as an example of how sustainability can be embedded in both leisure and business sectors.

Sustainable September’s goal is clear: to create a greener, more liveable precinct, while fostering long-term resilience and wellbeing for both the community and future generations. The campaign seeks to address both environmental challenges and social issues by engaging the community in meaningful activities that promote a sustainable lifestyle.
Sustainable September is being held at the KLCC Precinct, a central and iconic location in Kuala Lumpur. KLCC Park is the main venue for the campaign’s activities, a natural green space that provides a balance between urban development and nature. The precinct is home to the Petronas Twin Towers, one of the world’s tallest buildings, and is surrounded by a host of hotels, businesses, and recreational areas. The location has long been considered a symbol of modern Malaysia, and its involvement in Sustainable September further strengthens its reputation as a hub for both tourism and sustainable urban development.

The activities held here embody the campaign’s message that sustainability isn’t just about protecting the environment—it’s about improving the quality of life for all who live, work, and visit the city.
Sustainable September officially kicked off on September 12, 2025, and runs through the month of September. The first day of the event was marked by a series of community-focused activities designed to engage the public and encourage active participation in environmental sustainability. In addition to these activities, this year’s edition of Sustainable September features a fundraising drive aimed at raising RM30,000 for a selected charitable cause that aligns with the event’s focus on sustainability and social good. Each property in the KLCC Precinct is offering unique experiences and special packages at discounted rates, with all proceeds directed toward supporting the chosen cause. The campaign has also set out to increase awareness about sustainable tourism, with initiatives and collaborations designed to inspire green tourism across the region.
Sustainable September is important because it showcases KLCC Precinct’s commitment to promoting sustainability in urban spaces. The event offers a unique opportunity for residents, businesses, and tourists to come together and experience firsthand how sustainability can benefit not just the environment, but also the health and wellbeing of individuals. By fostering collaboration between local communities, businesses, and government entities, the event strengthens Kuala Lumpur’s position as a leader in sustainable urbanization.
The campaign also highlights the need for integrating green practices into both urban development and tourism, offering a model for other cities to follow. By focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Sustainable September is raising awareness about global challenges and inspiring action at the local level.
KLCCBEA, along with its partners, has worked hard to ensure that Sustainable September 2025 is a success. Their efforts include extensive collaborations with key partners such as Urbanice Malaysia and DBKL, as well as offering support for local businesses to integrate sustainable practices into their daily operations.
This year’s Sustainable September has expanded its scope, with greater community participation, precinct-wide activities, and fundraising initiatives. The event also benefits from extensive media coverage, helping to spread the message of sustainability far and wide, both locally and internationally.
As Sustainable September 2025 unfolds, it is clear that this initiative is much more than a one-time event. It is a movement that has gained significant traction, positioning the KLCC Precinct as a model for how cities can balance economic growth, environmental health, and community wellbeing. This year’s edition of Sustainable September builds upon the success of past campaigns, amplifying the message of sustainability and encouraging others to adopt green practices in their everyday lives. By uniting local communities, businesses, and tourists, Sustainable September helps to create a city that is not only liveable but lovable, ensuring a brighter, greener future for Kuala Lumpur.
