Kulu Ora Lodge, an eco-luxury safari lodge, will open in Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park in early 2026 as the next WildPlaces Africa lodge, expanding the company’s impressive collection of properties. Kulu Ora will be the seventh property in the WildPlaces Africa collection and is located within one of Uganda’s most remote and wildlife-rich locations, the second property in Murchison Falls National Park. Kulu Ora will offer guests an unmatched eco-luxury safari experience while supporting conservation in the park.
Located in a newly designated 75,000-hectare low-impact zone within the park, Kulu Ora will be a sanctuary of exclusivity, offering only limited access to its guests. This pristine area, shared only with WildPlaces Africa’s sister property, Papa’s Camp, guarantees privacy, tranquillity, and some of the best wildlife experiences in Uganda. Guests will have the rare opportunity to spot Uganda’s Big Seven: mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and Cape buffaloes. In addition to these incredible wildlife sightings, the lodge will also offer world-class birding and Nile River fishing experiences.

Kulu Ora will feature 11 spacious canvas-walled suites, each boasting private plunge pools and views of the majestic Nile River. For those seeking a group experience, a two-bedroom suite will be available for families or friends. Designed with both comfort and environmental sustainability in mind, the lodge will use solar power for energy needs and electric carts for guest transport. The architecture will be minimally invasive, with removable structures designed to reduce the environmental footprint.
The lodge will offer a range of amenities aimed at promoting relaxation and wellness, including a spa overlooking the Nile River. Treatments will use locally sourced oils and butters, and guests can enjoy activities like yoga, meditation, and forest bathing under the indigenous trees of the region. The lodge’s design also includes a spacious library curated with African literature and a swimming pool suitable for lap swimming, ensuring that visitors can unwind in a serene environment.
Kulu Ora’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its design and operations. The lodge will maintain a walled garden that supplies fresh, locally grown produce for its kitchen, reducing food miles and supporting local agriculture. A conservation levy of $25 USD per bed night will be included in the cost of stays, directly supporting Murchison Falls National Park’s ongoing protection efforts and local community projects.
Guests will also enjoy a seamless, eco-friendly experience throughout their stay, with the lodge prioritising minimal impact on the surrounding ecosystem. Kulu Ora’s low-impact design and operations aim to strike a balance between luxury and environmental stewardship, setting a new standard for sustainable tourism in the region.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore Murchison Falls National Park’s diverse landscapes, from savannahs to forests, and enjoy river cruises along the Nile, providing a rare and immersive experience in one of Uganda’s most celebrated national parks.
Kulu Ora Lodge will combine luxury, sustainability and conservation in Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park. Slated to be open in 2026, Kulu Ora Lodge will be an unforgettable experience to view Uganda’s unique wildlife in a sustainable environment.
