The La Union provincial government extends an invitation to tourists looking for a unique weekend experience by hosting the hot air balloon and aviation show once again. This event is poised to become an additional attraction in the province, augmenting its reputation as a prime destination for surfing and various exciting tourist spots.
Celebrating La Union’s foundation
This event is starting today and will run until tomorrow at the Poro Point Baywalk in the City of San Fernando, La Union, the hot air balloon show, along with other activities, commemorates the province’s 174th foundation anniversary. According to statements, this marks the second year that La Union has hosted the hot air balloon show, an event that previously captivated attendees with its novel and thrilling experiences.
Aiming for an aviation destination
Ortega-David, a licensed pilot herself, highlighted the event’s significance in aligning with the province’s goal to establish itself as a hub for aviation sports and activities in Northern Luzon.
A diverse array of attractions
The festivities will include the La Union Static Display, which presents some of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Bureau of Fire Protection’s most advanced and premier assets. This display will feature an array of equipment, such as an artillery truck, fire truck, ambulance, Bell 205A helicopter, rubber boat equipped with rescue gear, and diving equipment. Additionally, the La Union Car Show will offer a glimpse into a collection of vintage vehicles and supercars, further diversifying the attractions available to visitors.
Moreover, a drift show, featuring prominent figures in the motorsport world like Audel “Dr. Drift” Sison, Arianne “Sister Drift” Sison, and Ashley “Daughter Drift,” will add to the excitement, showcasing their skills to the attendees.
