Lake County Tourism Improvement District employs new executive director

Brian Fisher, a founding board member of the Lake County Tourism Improvement District, will soon be taking on a new role at the tourism agency as its first executive director.


After putting down his papers as a board member, Fisher will take over the agency entrusted with endorsing Lake County tourism.


The board which employed Fisher stated that he chaired the marketing and communications committee for the district from 2018, the year it started its function. The Visit Lake County website under his leadership grew its active users to more than 30,000 on an every month basis. Also, his leadership increased its social media following by 130%, the agency said.


The new leader is a Kelseyville hospitality business owner. Before starting his selected apartment hotel business in Kelseyville, known as Suite on Main, Fisher was employed in several executive sales and management positions in advertising including publishers including The Wall Street Journal, Condé Nast, and Hearst Publishing.


To quote Lynne Butcher, district treasurer and owner of the Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake, “Brian’s background in marketing and communications has been an invaluable asset to the work of the LCTID as we refreshed the County’s branding strategy and executed our new tourism marketing campaign.”


Fisher in his new role will be look into the “Clearly Different” marketing campaign that was introduced in San Francisco and Sacramento only recently, as well as across the social networking platforms of the organization.
