Laos organizing important tourism conferences in 2024

Laos is going for widespread preparations to organize the 27 th ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ conference and the 42 nd ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) in Vientiane, the capital of Laos from Jan. 22 to Jan. 27 next year.

Khom Douangchantha, the Director General of the Tourism Marketing division under the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism in Laos, said that the ministry has set up a 13-member introductory board, which will be accountable for a horde of responsibilities, comprising site choice and making invitation cards.

The board is now synchronizing with the secretariat of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN) to evaluate the record of tourism ministers along with other invitees like ASEAN together with
three tourism ministers, representatives from ASEAN-India, ASEAN-Russia, among other global
establishments.

Besides, the board is working on a tourism program for representatives to delight in throughout their
time in Vientiane. The board is also working with travel businesses to produce routes for representatives so that they can go to other areas in Laos at the same time.

Khom said that the ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ conference and the ATF are significant proceedings
that will uphold tourism in Laos and the ASEAN expanse. The Lao administration is dedicated toward
making the occasion unforgettable and fruitful for all members.
