Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) guests now have an additional reason to appreciate the airport’s commitment to reducing single-use plastic water bottles. Starting December 1, exclusive LOVE at LAX water bottles by MOBOT, featuring artistic designs by renowned Los Angeles artist Ruben Rojas, are now available at selected retail outlets.

In collaboration with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) Airports has launched the Sustain with Love water bottle campaign to support the airport’s push for more sustainable travel. Between December 1 and December 31, patrons spending $75 at designated specialty retail stores in LAX Terminals 1, 2, 3, 6, Tom Bradley International Terminal, and West Gates qualify for a complimentary LOVE at LAX water bottle, subject to terms and conditions and while supplies last.

Inspired by LAX’s initiative to eliminate single-use plastic water bottles, URW aims to celebrate this eco-friendly movement by rewarding guests with a unique water bottle. Travelers are encouraged to refill their bottles at any of the hydration stations conveniently located throughout the airport, with an interactive map available to guide them to these stations.

The MOBOT water bottle, also serving as a foam roller, features Ruben Rojas’ distinctive LOVE graffiti, symbolizing LAX’s commitment to a sustainable future. Crafted from 100% recycled stainless steel and non-toxic high-density EVA foam, these bottles are FDA-approved, BPA-free, and equipped with stainless steel straws.

Bea Hsu, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Los Angeles World Airports, emphasizes the importance of eliminating single-use plastic water bottles to enhance sustainability across airports. Partners at URW are thanked for their support, and travelers are encouraged to embrace this greener future.

Maral Matossian, URW General Manager at LAX, expresses pride in joining LAWA on this vital initiative to reduce environmental impact. The limited-edition water bottles are a testament to their love for LAX and the environment, serving as a reminder for guests to contribute to plastic waste reduction.

Renowned artist Ruben Rojas, known for spreading love through his art, advocates for responsible choices that make a positive impact locally and globally. He encourages individuals to choose love and participate in eliminating single-use plastic, rewarding them with a limited-edition piece of art.

MOBOT Founder and CEO Lani Cooper describes the collaboration as a perfect fit for LAX and its guests. As a former flight attendant, she understands the need for eco-travel options that support well-being and the environment on-the-go. The water bottle, besides being eco-friendly, doubles as a foam roller, providing travelers with a quick stretch during their journeys.

LAX took a significant step in June by prohibiting the sale of single-use water bottles, aligning with L.A.’s New Green Deal. The airport implemented a two-year phase-out period, allowing businesses to deplete plastic water bottle inventories and transition to compliant products such as recyclable aluminum or glass containers.

Reducing waste and managing water efficiently are crucial aspects of LAWA’s Sustainability Action Plan. LAX and Van Nuys Airport (VNY) aim to achieve net zero in potable water consumption for non-potable uses and zero carbon emissions from LAWA operations by 2045. Additionally, LAWA is committed to using 100% renewable electricity by the same target year.
