Both companies are committed to advancing sustainable practices within the travel industry. ATS Travel acknowledges the complexities of obtaining science-based data, yet emphasizes its critical role in reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change.

Through its Go Green Initiative, ATS now provides science-based data on carbon emissions, recognizing that setting science-based targets is a highly effective method for tackling carbon impact. Amadeus contributes to these efforts with its sustainability solutions, which support travel companies’ goals by offering tools that enable them to make decisions that lessen environmental impact and promote sustainable options.

Amadeus’ environmental sustainability strategy rests on three pillars: responsibility (enhancing our operational efficiency), commitment (supporting customers with sustainable solutions), and collaboration (partnering on sustainability initiatives across the industry).

A standout event, the Climate Fresk Conference, highlighted the collaboration between Amadeus and ATS Travel, underlining their dedication to fostering climate change awareness and encouraging a more sustainable travel industry.

The ATS Go Green initiative is showing tangible benefits, driving the adoption of sustainable practices within the company and promoting sustainable travel options. ATS Travel leads by example, integrating sustainability into client travel programs and supporting sustainable procurement practices throughout the supply chain.

ATS Travel also offers globally recognized, certifiable carbon offsetting solutions, and leads by example by offsetting its own carbon footprint through various plantations in Asia and Africa using the Miyawaki afforestation method. ATS ensures all client communications include carbon footprint data for used services, facilitating easier offsets or sustainable choices in future interactions.

Amadeus reinforces its commitment to sustainability by investing in Chooose, a climate-tech company, and CAPHENIA, a German firm pioneering sustainable aviation fuel. Amadeus continues to enhance its operations’ environmental efficiency and supports its customers towards achieving the travel industry’s goal of Net Zero emissions by 2050. It also fosters a responsible, inclusive travel and tourism industry, highlighted by initiatives like the Amadeus Volunteer Day, involving over 35,000 hours of community service worldwide.
