WTM Spotlight Riyadh has released the first details of its Programme for September 2026. Global travel market leaders, tourism businesses and industry experts will be able to visit Riyadh for the first time to examine Saudi Arabia’s growing travel economy, international connectivity and opportunities for outbound travel and creating future traveler experiences. The Conference will be held from 8 to 10 September 2026 and will be held at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Centre to offer regional and global tourism markets and travel-related service providers more opportunities to collaborate with Saudi Arabia’s travel market.
This new conference will be part of the World Travel Market events portfolio and will focus exclusively on Saudi Arabia’s changing tourism landscape. It will create avenues for travel suppliers, buyers, tourism organizations, hospitality, transport and technology services to discuss new opportunities in inbound and outbound travel.
WTM Spotlight Riyadh arrives as Saudi Arabia continues accelerating its tourism development strategy under Vision 2030, with major investments in destinations, infrastructure, hospitality, entertainment and visitor services. The event programme focuses on how Saudi Arabia is evolving from a fast-growing tourism destination into a major global travel market with influence across both inbound and outbound sectors.

The conference will examine key areas shaping the Kingdom’s tourism future, including destination development, travel demand, aviation connectivity, investment opportunities, luxury tourism, business events, sports tourism, pilgrimage travel and technology-driven visitor experiences. According to the official event platform, WTM Spotlight Riyadh aims to bring together global and regional travel leaders while creating opportunities to understand the changing dynamics of Saudi Arabia’s travel ecosystem. The programme structure reflects the growing importance of Saudi Arabia not only as a destination attracting international visitors but also as a significant source market generating outbound travel demand.
The inaugural WTM Spotlight Riyadh conference will be organised around three major themes covering tourism growth, market access and future travel experiences. The opening day will focus on “Driving Growth for Vision 2030”, examining how tourism can contribute to economic diversification, regional development and sustainable visitor growth. Sessions will explore destination competitiveness, community involvement, cultural assets and ways to create stronger tourism experiences across Saudi Arabia.
The second day will shift attention towards outbound travel opportunities and international market access. Discussions will examine Saudi travellers’ growing global influence and how destinations, airlines, hotels and travel companies can develop stronger connections with this important market. The final day will focus on connected destinations and enhanced visitor experiences, highlighting the role of aviation, transport networks, technology and innovation in shaping future travel.
One of the most important themes of WTM Spotlight Riyadh is the growth of Saudi Arabia’s outbound travel market. The conference will explore how international destinations and travel companies can engage with Saudi travellers through stronger partnerships, tailored products and improved market understanding. Saudi Arabia’s expanding economy, rising disposable income and increasing international connectivity have created new opportunities for tourism businesses worldwide.
The programme will include discussions around luxury travel, MICE tourism, wellness experiences and destination partnerships designed to attract Saudi visitors. For international tourism boards, tour operators and hospitality groups, the event provides a platform to understand changing traveller preferences and build commercial relationships with Saudi travel buyers. WTM Spotlight Riyadh’s buyer programme is also designed to connect suppliers with Saudi and international buyers, including tour operators, destination management companies, travel agents and meeting planners.
Travel connectivity will be another major focus during the Riyadh event. The conference will examine how aviation, cruise, rail and road networks can support smoother movement between destinations and improve the overall visitor journey. Saudi Arabia has been developing large-scale tourism infrastructure projects, including new destinations, transport links and hospitality developments, creating demand for more integrated travel systems.
Technology will also play a central role, with discussions expected to focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation and new tools that can improve travel planning and customer experiences. The inclusion of emerging technologies reflects the changing global travel landscape, where personalised services, automated systems and data-driven solutions are becoming increasingly important for businesses and travellers.
WTM Spotlight Riyadh will also highlight several specialist tourism segments that are becoming increasingly important for Saudi Arabia. Luxury tourism remains a major development area, supported by high-end resorts, unique cultural experiences and premium destination projects. Sports tourism will also feature as Saudi Arabia continues expanding its global presence through major sporting events and entertainment initiatives.
The conference programme includes discussions on how international events can generate long-term tourism demand and encourage repeat visitation. Pilgrimage tourism, including Umrah travel, will be another key topic. Saudi Arabia continues improving visitor services, transportation systems and experiences connected with religious travel. These sectors demonstrate the wider transformation of Saudi tourism beyond traditional leisure travel.
WTM Spotlight Riyadh begins Saudi Arabia’s new approach to international travel businesses. It constructs a specific place to find partners between tourism professionals and businesses with available spots in the travel market of the Kingdom. It will take place at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Centre from 8 to 10 September 2026, from 13:00 to 21:00. It will offer attendees the opportunity to network with travel services providers across the value chain.
With its rapid and continuous growth, Saudi Arabia’s position in the global travel market makes WTM Spotlight Riyadh one of the prime places to be for international businesses wishing to capitalize on the great opportunities awaiting them in one of the world’s most-developed travel markets.
