The Surf Club, a culinary destination in South Florida and home to some of the best loved names in food, welcomes chef Marco Calenzo as Executive Chef of Lido Restaurant at The Surf Club, sharing its iconic home in the Miami Beaches with Four Seasons Hotel and Residences at The Surf Club.

After a blossoming year at Lido Restaurant, and continuing The Surf Club’s rich culinary heritage, a new season of Italian cuisine begins at Lido under Chef Calenzo. The chef, with wide expertise in Michelin-starred spots, flagship restaurants, and culinary destinations within Four Seasons hotels and resorts globally, embodies authentic Italian cooking with a focus on seasonal and thoughtful preparation.

Being a native to Florence, a city synonymous with art and culture, combined with growing up in a family with a strong knowledge of produce and respect for the seasonality of ingredients, allowed him to build a passion for transmitting his country’s art through thoughtful cuisine.

Chef Calenzo adds, “The great beauty of being born to a farmer’s daughter is growing up learning about local produce and its seasonality, as well as being the son of a sailor means acquiring knowledge of the sea’s bounty at a young age.”

Now, Chef Calenzo is ready to bring his southern European roots to Lido, originally the ballroom of The Surf Club, now transformed into a proud dining atmosphere, representing the connection between the coasts of Italy and Miami: beautiful pools, soft sandy beaches, unhurried afternoons spent on scenic verandas.

“Having called Florence home for many years, I am thrilled to welcome Chef Calenzo to his new home at The Surf Club, where every day he will bring the Italian way to the Lido experience,” says Daniela Trovato, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel and Residences at The Surf Club

Gaining global knowledge at award-winning locales from Florence to London, Maui and Beijing, as well as leading flagship restaurants, Lido’s new Executive Chef will showcase purity and respect for ingredients as he combines Italian coastal and traditional dishes with modern creativity.

Lido Restaurant at The Surf Club is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
