Escape winter with Southwest Airlines‘ “Wanna Get Away” sale: flights from $39, book by Jan. 25 for travel on Tues/Weds through May 22.

As the chilly season intensifies across many parts of the United States, individuals in frostier areas are eagerly seeking last-minute escapes to warmer travel destinations. Southwest Airlines is addressing this demand with their latest promotional airfare.

From January 16 until January 25, Southwest Airlines is offering select springtime flights starting at just $39 for a one-way journey. This special promotion, titled “Wanna Get Away,” aims to encourage eager travelers to take to the skies as the winter season extends into spring, affecting numerous regions throughout the nation.

However, there are some stipulations to keep in mind. To avail of the Wanna Get Away fares, bookings must be completed by 11:59 p.m. PST on January 25, and these special rates are applicable only on travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from February 6 through May 22. There are no blackout periods, but reservations must be made at least 21 days prior to the travel date. No special code is necessary; simply book directly through the airline. Additionally, with Southwest’s policy of allowing two free checked bags and two free carry-on items, travelers can pack without the stress of limiting their luggage.

In related news, Southwest Airlines has recently unveiled a new feature to help prevent lost luggage.

The actual cost of your flight will vary depending on your departure and arrival locations. The Points Guy reports that fares as low as $39 have been seen on routes like Louisville to Chicago, while flights from Los Angeles to Las Vegas are available for around $46, and trips between Hawaiian islands are priced at about $50.

To discover these affordable fares, simply input your starting and ending cities in Southwest’s Low Fare Calendar and begin planning your much-needed escape.
