London & Partners is pleased to announce the accomplishment of securing its 100th Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the city this year. This achievement underscores London’s enduring appeal and resilience as a prime destination for global investors.

Since January 2023, London & Partners has successfully attracted 100 international tech companies, resulting in the creation of over 4,380 jobs, reflecting a remarkable 40% year-on-year growth. Furthermore, an additional 278 companies have established their presence in the capital this year, solidifying London’s position as the foremost European and the third-ranked global destination for FDI, following Dubai and Singapore.

Within these 100 FDI projects, India takes the lead with a 29% share of inbound investment into London, followed closely by Europe at 24%, and North America at 23%. Notably, the Climate Tech sector has experienced significant growth, constituting 23% of FDI into the capital—an impressive twofold increase from the previous year—resulting in the creation of nearly 1,000 jobs, marking a threefold increase.

London & Partners has secured substantial investments in the Climate Tech sector over the past 11 months, including the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, which chose London as its UK headquarters and recently delivered its 1000th electric bus to the city, establishing one of Europe’s largest electric bus fleets. London also welcomed renowned climate action tech firm Cloverly from Atlanta and Allume Energy from Australia, specialists in shared solar solutions for flats.

Laura Citron, CEO of London & Partners, said, “London & Partners teams around the world are the city’s talent scouts, identifying the most exciting international businesses in key growth sectors, who will ultimately drive and deliver future growth for London. From assessing the commercial opportunity to hiring their first team to accessing clients and investors, London & Partners’ expert teams help shortcut months by putting international companies directly in touch with the right people in London.”

London’s recent recognition as the leading global ‘smart center’ for its effective use of data in prioritizing climate tech further solidifies its role as a significant player on the world stage, particularly in international climate conferences such as COP28.

Also commenting on the 100th FDI win, Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I’m delighted that London & Partners has reached this significant milestone of 100 international tech companies investing in our capital, boosting the economy and supporting local jobs. I’m committed to being London’s most pro-business Mayor ever and it’s fantastic to see the significant investment from climate technology, showcasing London’s commitment to decarbonisation and improving air quality as we continue working towards building a fairer, more prosperous London for everyone.”

Furthermore, London celebrated other notable climate tech investments, including Cero.org, the Thai company behind the blockchain-enabled carbon wallet, and Roadmetrics, an AI software mobility company from India.
