The region is already a favorite vacation spot, and it will now cater to wealthy tourists from all over the globe in an even more luxurious fashion.

More than simply making an economic impact right away, the Corinthian’s arrival highlights the Caribbean’s increasingly image-forward approach to courting high-end, experiential tourism. As luxury cruises focus more on responsible travel and local immersive experiences, the local tourism sector is likely to benefit from increasing demand for high end products like N Bhutan – navigating landscapes so remote they were previously impossible to access, home-staying in local communities and quite literally treading where few Western soles have before been placed. Local economies will gain from spending on excursions, local attractions and fine dining, as well.

The Corinthian will also bring in an entirely different type of tourism to the Caribbean, not just cruise-ship tourists, but possibly a new generation of eco and sustainable-conscious luxury travelers. Through concentrating on small, little-visited islands and environmentally-friendly travel, the Corinthian aims to be the model for sustainable tourism in the area.

The Outlook of Caribbean Luxury Tourism

The Orient Express Corinthian is only the beginning for luxury-maritime travel. And with the forthcoming sister ship, the Orient Express Olympian, set to debut in 2027, the brand is ready to continue reshaping the luxury cruise market. When these yachts hit the seas across the Caribbean and beyond, they’ll be redefining what it means to be ultra-luxe on the high seas, and providing travelers with an unmatched way to experience some of the most stunning travel destinations in the entire world.
