Lý Son island to make tourism as a leading economy generator

Recently, Vietnam News Agency has exchanged words with the deputy chairman of Lý Son District People’s Committee, in regard to the decision of promoting tourism in the locality as one of its prime economic activities. Lý Son is country’s frontline island occupying a crucial position in regard to the security and national defense. Along with promoting the advantages and potential for economic development of the island, in recent years Lý Son authorities has prioritized resource wise to conduct important infrastructure projects to serve people’s livelihood in a better way, and enhance the socio-economic development of the island. The financial structure of the island is changing towards sustainable development, with an increased proportion of trade and service industry like tourism has enjoyed a major advancement and turning out to be an important economic sector.

The district is targeting to accelerate the shift in financial structure, aiming 60 per cent of the economy stimulated by tourism and service development; agriculture fuelled around 30- 35 per cent, and the remaining got perked up by industrial activities and handicrafts. The deputy chairman also said that they will aim on improving the planning of Lý Son Island district in the near future, and on the basis of this plan, they will attempt to draw investment, and in the next five years, target resources on the quick development of the island. The Hoàng Sa heroic soldiers were born and thus makes it imperative to carry out the royal mission to protect the holy sea of the country.
