Today, the inaugural flight of Lynx Air to the Fort Myers area takes off from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Southwest Florida International Airport.

This ultra-affordable airline of Canada will be using Boeing 737 aircraft every week between Toronto and Fort Myers. Three will be its four flights of this new brand. The continued US expansion of Lynx for the winter months has been highlighted in today’s launch ceremony. By now, the airline operates its flights between Toronto and Orlando, Phoenix, Tampa Bay, and Los Angeles. At present, all of these destinations are on sale. Every week, Lynx flies over 21,500 seats across its North American network to and from Toronto, showcasing a rise of over 250 per cent from 2022.  Lynx in Toronto in the summer of 2023 established a pilot and cabin crew base to grow this rise even more, generating 101 new jobs in the region.

Vijay Bathija, CCO of Lynx Air, said that Toronto has fast come up as their most rapid-growing hub, mainly because of a long gap in affordable air travel options. For a long time, the city has undergone high airfares and was underserved by low-cost carriers. The CCO said that they are proud to be the only low-cost carrier, connecting Toronto and Fort Myers.
