This year, MAAS Aviation, internationally acknowledged specialists in aircraft painting and external coverings, is rejoicing in its 40 th business anniversary. Throughout this time, MAAS has seen enormous changes and development; constructing amenities in Europe and the US, setting long-lasting connections with airlines, renting companies, MROs and OEMs around the world, and since 2019, joining hands with private equity partner, Egeria headquartered in Amsterdam.
In 1983, Darragh Hall and Harry Ryan built Expressair Aviation, the parent business of MAAS Aviation, presenting outsourced services of aircraft painting through Europe. The inventive pair set-up their new
business by going to their customers’ places to recoat full fleets of airplanes. This business essence and
customer centric emphasis is at the center of MAAS’ business values even now.
In 1986, the business set-up its first permanent aircraft painting service at Shannon Airport in Ireland. Two
years later, they expanded to The Netherlands with MAAS Aviation opening its first tailor-made aircraft
painting and restoration shelter at Maastricht Aachen Airport in 1988.
Since then, MAAS has set-up custom-built paint shops in Germany, the US and most lately in Kaunas,
Lithuania, for backing the increasing supplies of their lasting clients, i.e. Airbus and Ryanair.
