The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has recently enhanced the Macao Grand Prix Museum’s collection by adding a Lynk & Co 03 TCR race car. This vehicle, which has previously competed on the Guia Circuit, now stands among the museum’s exhibits to celebrate the illustrious history of the Macau Grand Prix. To further augment the festive atmosphere during the Chinese New Year, the museum will reintroduce the “Explore the Guia Circuit” Bus Tour, offering a unique experience for both local and visiting attendees to enjoy the Spring Festival.

The addition of the Lynk & Co 03 TCR race car as a permanent exhibit showcases the remarkable achievements of Chinese motorsport teams. Lynk & Co, a premium brand founded through a collaboration between Geely Auto and Volvo Cars, has made significant strides in the realm of Touring Car Racing (TCR) in China. This particular model contributed to the team’s victory at the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup, marking the beginning of three consecutive world championships from 2019 to 2021.

The featured race car, piloted by renowned Chinese driver Ma Qinghua at the 68th Macau Grand Prix in 2021, clinched top honors in the first two races of the Galaxy Entertainment Macau Guia Race. This exhibit allows visitors to appreciate a piece of racing history.

The museum is also offering another chance to participate in the “Explore the Guia Circuit” Bus Tour, following its success during the last Spring Festival. The tours are scheduled for 12:00 noon and 14:30 daily from 10 to 18 February 2024 (covering the first through ninth days of Chinese New Year and exceptionally open on Tuesday, 13 February), and on weekends from 24 February to 28 April 2024. Museum guests are invited to join the free tour, which provides a detailed exploration of the Guia Circuit, enhancing the museum visit with insights from a local tour guide. The 45-minute guided tour is available to ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited space.

A highlight of the festivities is the Golden Dragon Dance, set to mesmerize attendees at 14:30 on the first day of Chinese New Year (10 February).

MGTO continues to commit to the promotion and preservation of Macau’s motorsport heritage. The Macao Grand Prix Museum, which reopened in 2021 with a fresh look and expanded features, including interactive displays and accessible facilities, aims to provide an entertaining and educational experience. This initiative reflects the city’s diverse tourism offerings and enhances its attractiveness as a destination.

For the Chinese New Year period, the museum will be open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, including a special opening on 13 February (the fourth day of Chinese New Year).
