The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), Macao’s 43rd Green Week organizer, revealed that the event will be held from March 16 to 24 at various locations across the city. This year’s theme, “passing on the love of nature to build a beautiful city together,” intends to heighten the community’s consciousness regarding sustainability, ecological conservation, and the safeguarding of the Special Administrative Region’s (SAR) flora and fauna.

According to IAM, Green Week is slated to host around 30 activities designed to engage the public in ecological preservation. These activities will encompass guided eco-tours, tree-planting efforts, and various workshops aimed at fostering a deeper connection with nature among participants.

The event is scheduled to kick off at Avenida da Praia in Taipa on the afternoon of March 16, featuring an array of interactive games, workshops, tours, and plant distribution. Additionally, booths will be set up to provide attendees with valuable information on conservation efforts.

Following the launch, a series of ecological-themed activities are planned to unfold at various locations, including the Seac Pai Van wetlands and Taipa’s Flower City Park, among others, throughout the subsequent days.

This initiative by IAM to conduct the 43rd edition of Macao Green Week underlines a significant effort to promote global tourism by emphasizing the importance of ecological sustainability.

By introducing the public to the intrinsic value of the natural environment through engaging and educational activities, the event not only aims to foster a culture of ecological awareness and conservation within Macao but also positions the city as a beacon of environmental stewardship on the international stage. Through such initiatives, Macao hopes to attract tourists who are keen on destinations that prioritize ecological preservation, thereby contributing to the global tourism industry by offering a model of sustainable urban living and tourism.
