In a bid to lure international tourists to visit the city after years of travel restrictions, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has launched a promotional campaign in collaboration with Air Macau. Tourists can enjoy a limited-time ‘Buy One Get One Free’ offer when they book a round-trip ticket from Air Macau departing from Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, or Vietnam with Macao as the destination from now until June 30, 2023.
Apart from air travel, the MGTO has recently partnered with public transport companies to launch the ‘Macao Treat’ initiative, which encourages longer stays by providing free return tickets to tourists who stay overnight in Macao. To be eligible for the deal, individuals must be Hong Kong residents, Taiwanese, or international tourists visiting Hong Kong.
During the promotion period, which runs from April 10 to June 30, the programme will cover the majority of services, including land transportation via HK-MO Express, One Bus Hong Kong Macau, and Eternal East Cross-Border Coach, as well as water transportation via TurboJet and Cotai Water Jet – arriving by ferry in just 1 hour.
UNESCO named Macao a ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’ in 2017, and the city is famous for its gastronomic diversity, making dining one of the greatest ways to discover Macao. Tourists can relish in the city’s East-meets-West flair as they wander through the streets and lanes, explore the UNESCO world heritage sites, and appreciate the trendy twist offered by modern retail and entertainment facilities.
To highlight Macao’s multidimensional beauty, the MGTO has launched a campaign called ‘Experience Macao, Limitless,’ which includes a variety of themed events aimed at illuminating local arts and culture scenes with a burst of vibrancy. ‘Spring into Arts’ is the April theme, ‘May there be FUN’ is the May theme, ‘Tasty June’ is the June theme, ‘Summer Heat is On’ is the July and August theme, ‘Autumn Delights’ is the September theme, ‘Festive October’ is the October theme, ‘November Formula’ is the November theme, and ‘Dazzling Winter’ is the December theme.
