Sustainable Rural Tourism transforms Madhya Pradesh, blending eco-friendly travel with rich cultural heritage in India heartland.

The hamlet received a prestigious Gold Category honor from India’s Ministry of Tourism, highlighting its vital role in eco-friendly travel, embracing village life, and maintaining heritage customs in a scenic setting. Close by, Khokhra, adjacent to Sanjay Dubri National Park, achieved a Bronze Category recognition. These awards demonstrate the importance of the villages in promoting sustainable tourism. As a segment of the Rural Tourism Project, which includes 100 villages in six cultural zones, 30 villages, such as Madla and Khokhra, have been recognized for offering immersive experiences with over 125 homestays.
