Taking a signal from the Prime Minister’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ enterprise to encourage home tourism, a first flight with industry stakeholders and the highest representatives from the Goa tourism division departed from Manohar International Airport of Goa to Dehradun in Uttarakhand on 23rd May. This marks the commencement of non-stop air link between these two of the most preferred tourist destinations of India. This flight will turn Goa into a doorway that lifts tourism for both places which are a hue attraction for domestic and world-wide tourists.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the highest administrators of the tourism
division of Goa and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board. The signing ceremony saw the attendance of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami and Goa Minister of Tourism, Shri Rohan
Khaunte. This agreement is an exclusive affiliation between the two states for sharing their experiences
and know-how in encouraging tourism in addition to increasing cultural interactions.

Rohan Khaunte specified that both Uttarakhand and Goa are places enticing a huge figure of internal and
worldwide visitors during peak times. The new air strip will link these two tourism hotspots in India, thus
rendering a boost to the tourism and connected sectors in the individual areas.
